WEEK EIGHT IN THE HOOD

All hands on deck tracking the progress of Mummy’s car as it wends it way over the ocean blue to Damman -

The “Mummymobile” has had some interesting stops along the way and we were happy that it wasn’t bombed as it passed through the waters off the coast of Libya!

The Grand Tour: Houston - Alexandria - Aqaba - Jeddah - Hodieda - Muscat (one place we may get to) - Jebel Alli - Abu Dhabi (on the agenda, when we go to Ferrari World) - Doha (where we are going to be Sept 1 - Sept 5) - Bahrain (where we will be August 29 - Sept 1) - DAMMAN - Home to Camp Sand!

I sat outside this morning, in the shade, in a black dress, with an electric air pump and filled up Jay’s paddling pool. It has 3-sections to be pumped and it took about an hour. Jay said that it was too hot to be outside and bolted back inside into 74F A/C. Well into the hour I requested a fruit juice box from the fridge to keep me hydrated. An apparition appeared in a dinosaur linen shirt with chocolate ice cream accents and Lightening McQueen underwear - the beverage at hand - a Moussy Classic (Swiss Classic) 330 ml bottle - - - “Mum this is what Dad would have it’s colder.”

Yes his father’s son.

Many years ago in Australia, I had one last boogie board ride at the end of the day - well the classic last run - and ripped a muscle in my leg. Looking for the bone and blood I screamed blue murder as I surfaced for “
M-A-R-K”. After a drive to the local hospital in Lorne which is a fabulous and back then small and affordable beach community about 2 hours from Melbourne, we returned home to our 2 story rental. I retreated to a hot bath on the ground floor to relax the muscle and requested a beverage. Mark brought a cold beer! I would have preferred a cup of hot black tea, but who was I to complain. It was during the remainder of our week long vacation, that he became “Rex”. Another story another time.
